Spanish pole sitter Alex Rins held off a fierce late challenge from Johann Zarco to win the Indianapolis Moto2 Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday.

Indianapolis: Spanish pole sitter Alex Rins held off a fierce late challenge from Johann Zarco to win the Indianapolis Moto2 Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday.

Rins pulled ahead of Switzerland`s Dominique Aergerter with less than two laps remaining and rode his Kalex to the finish in 41min, 18.866sec in the 25-lap, 104.25km race.

Zarco of France and Italy`s Franco Morbidelli passed Aegerter to finish second and third. Rins`s victory over Zarco was just 0.482 of a second.

Aegerter settled for fourth place with Spain`s Tito Rabat coming in fifth.
