Ahmedabad`s teen cueist Haria completes grand triple crown

Pune: The PYC Gymkhana here is turning out to be a successful hunting ground for Gujarat`s teen sensation Dhvaj Haria, who annexed the national sub-junior snooker as well as the junior billiards crown today to add to mthe sub-junior billiards title he had won earlier.

The 18-year-old Ahmedabad-based cueist won the sub-junior snooker title by outplaying Jaiveer Dhingra of Maharashtra in three straight frames in the final.

Haria, tutored by former world billiards runner-up Subash Agrawal and Englishman Nick Barrow, chalked up a 60(41)-12, 60-52, 69-44 victory.

He also won all his three matches in the four-player junior billiards round robin finals with an average of +448 to grab his third title in these national championships.

The 12th standard commerce student of Delhi Public School, who has been awarded the Indian Oil Scholarship, is set to take part in three more upcoming events here – junior snooker, senior billiards and senior snooker.
