Rohtak: Former Commonwealth Games gold medallist and Olympian Akhil Kumar`s Boxing Club and Fitness Society has run into trouble after the residents of the area, where the club is situated, filed complain against running commercial activities in the residential complex.
`Akhil Kumar Boxing Club and Fitness Society` was set up by Akhil at Chhotu Ram Colony here last month but several residents have submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) demanding action as per the Municipal Corporation (MC) act against the building owner, who allowed to establish the club in his residential building.
The protesters in the memorandum alleged that the boxing club was being run in the residential building of the locality, which is violation of the rules as any sort of commercial activities as per the MC act cannot be run in the residential building.
Significantly, the Rohtak Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Gupta, has handed over the matter to officer concerned of the MC for further investigation.
Speaking to reporters, Gupta said residents of Chhotu Ram Colony had met him for registering their complaint against the boxing club.
"The Municipal Corporation is investigation the matter and action will be taken as per findings of the enquiry," said Gupta.
