New Delhi: Bollywood 'perfectionist' Amir Khan has written motivational letters to Babita Kumari and Vinesh Phogat ahead of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

According to reports, Khan – who plays Mahavir Phogat in biographical sports drama movie "Dangal" – wanted to motivate the Rio-bound wrestlers, and wished them success.

"Aamir realises the value of Olympics for which they've trained all their life. Therefore, he wanted to send them a hand-written note to wish them success," actor's spokesperson was reported as saying.

The movie itself features lives of Babita and her sister Geeta Phogat – daughters of legendary wrestling coach Mahavir, in whose struggle to teach wrestling to daughters and niece the feature is based on.

Mahavir famously trained many wrestlers, who went on to achieve international fame. Daughters Babita, Geeta and his Vinesh Phogat are some of them.

In the Rio Games, Babita and Vinesh will represent India in 53-kg and 48-kg events of free-style wrestling. In the women's wrestling, they will be joined by Sakshi Malik (58-kg freestyle).

Male wrestlers Sandeep Tomar (57-kg Freestyle), Yogeshwar Dutt (65-kg Freestyle), Narsingh Pancham Yadav (74-kg Freestyle), Ravindra Khatri (85-kg Greco-Roman) and Hardeep Singh (98-kg Greco-Roman) make up the 8-member strong wrestling team.
