Poland`s Anita Wlodarczyk set a new world record in the women`s hammer on Sunday throwing it for 79.58 metres at the same stadium in Berlin where she was crowned world champion in 2009.

Berlin: Poland`s Anita Wlodarczyk set a new world record in the women`s hammer on Sunday throwing it for 79.58 metres at the same stadium in Berlin where she was crowned world champion in 2009.

The 29-year-old Olympic silver medallist and two-time European champion broke the three year old mark of 79.42m set by Germany`s Betty Heidler in May 2011.
