New York: Disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong has agreed to cooperate with the United States Anti Doping Agency (USADA) following reports that he would be facing a federal investigation for witness tampering, obstruction, and intimidation, according to an American daily.

The reports had surfaced following a statement by U.S. Attorney Andre Birotte, whose office conducted a criminal investigation of Armstrong, closing the probe a year ago without bringing any charges. Birotte said that his view has not changed despite of the statements made by Armstrong and other media reports, and he added that his office will continue to investigate the situation.

The USADA banned Armstrong from the sport for life but set a deadline for Armstrong to cooperate with their cleanup effort, which they said is the only way for Armstrong to reduce his ban reduced.
