Kolkata: Indian men`s recurve team topped the 17th Asian Archery Championship ranking round with a total of 1909 points in Tehran on Thursday.
Individually, Jayanta Talukdar took the top spot with a total of 656 points on the opening day.
The other Indians, Tarundeep Rai (634; 8th), Rahul Banerjee (619; 19th) and Atanu Das (618; 20th) did not impress much.
The team consisted of Talukdar, Rai and Banerjee. Rimil Buriuly was the best among Indian women logging a total of 594 which earned her seventh position overall.
L Bombayla Devi (586; 13th), Deepika Kumari (577; 17th) and Chekrovolu Swuro (529; 36th) followed Rimil. The Indian team, comprising Rimil, Deepika and Bombayla finished fourth overall with a total of 1757 points.
The men`s compound team was sixth overall with a total of 2005 points.
Ch Jignas (678; 7th), Kh Ratan Singh (671; 16th), M Chinglensana Luw (656; 25th) and Ritul Chatterjee (573; 34th) were placed in the individual ranking.
Jhano Hansdah was 11th in the women`s compound qualification round with a total of 640. Manjudha Soy (639; 13th), Jyoti V Surekha (638; 14th) and Namita Yadav (628; 17th) were ranked in that order. The team was placed fourth with a total of 1917.
