Zeenews Bureau

New Delhi: In another controversy emanating from the Commonwealth Games, it was alleged that the chief coach for the Games, under the Badminton Association of India, was biased and was not choosing players on merit.

National level shuttler Ajay Jairam was not chosen for CWG, he is a player from Tata-Padukone Academy. It was alleged by players that the chief coach gave Gopichand Academy players preference over others like them.

In another clear case of conflict of interest, the synthetic tennis turfs being laid for the Commonwealth Games were done by a company whose CEO is Aditya Khanna, the son of the treasurer of the Games Organizing Committee, Anil Khanna.

Anil Khanna is one of the bigwigs of Indian tennis as he is also the All India Tennis Association executive secretary general. The company in question, Rebound Ace, is an Australian firm specialising in synthetic play courts. Aditya Khanna heads the Indian arm of Rebound.
