Bombay Navy beat RCF in Baba Farid Gold Cup hockey

Faridkot: Bombay Navy defeated Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala 2-1 in a thrilling encounter on the second day of the four-day 20th All India Baba Farid Gold Cup hockey tournament.

Bombay Navy took the lead in 15th minute of the match through Fareen Khan to go into the breather with a goal lead.

After the change of ends, RCF equalised through Sandeep Singh, who scored a field goal in the 51st minute.

But RCF`s joy was shortlived as Ved Parkash scored the winning goal for the Bombay side in the very next minute.

In the second match of the day, Northern Railways defeated CRPF, New Delhi 2-0 with both the goals coming in the second half of the match.

Arjinder Singh opened the account for Northern Railways in the 44th minute and then Raju doubled the leda and in the 58th minute to hand the Railwaymen a convincing victory.
