New Delhi: After its over a year of intensive probe, the Central Vigilance Commission has decided to make an exclusive report citing corruption and other grave irregularities allegedly done by government officials in executing Commonwealth Games related projects.
The report, which is in its final stage, will be completed within a month`s time and carry minute details of thousands of works done by civic and construction government departments in the run up to the mega sporting event held in the national capital in October 2010.
"The report on Commonwealth Games is being prepared. It may take about a month to complete it," Vigilance Commissioner R Srikumar said.
He said the report will carry details of project and brief out irregularities.
"The report will give status of the probe undertaken by the Commission," Kumar, a former IPS officer, said. The Commonwealth Games were marred by corruption charges against various private and government officials associated with the sporting event related works.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had formed a High Level Committee (HLC) under the chairmanship of former Comptroller and Auditor General V K Shunglu to probe the graft charges.
The HLC had then submitted six detailed reports citing instances of managerial lapses and corruption. Country`s top auditing body, Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), has also come out with its report on the Games.
Both the HLC and CAG have found financial irregularities worth several thousand crores.
