Dhyanchand also deserves Bharat Ratna, says Milkha Singh

Bangalore: Legendary athlete Milkha Singh today said Dhyanchand also deserves the Bharat Ratna and that the government should honour the hockey legend.

"Dhyanchand deserves Bharat Ratna. Such a sportsman has never been born in India. The award has been given to Sachin...It`s okay. Nevertheless, they should think about Dhyanchand immediately," Milkha said here today. Retired batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar became the first sportsperson to receive the country`s highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna. Milkha said Tendulkar could learn the tricks of administration if he becomes a Sports Minister. "I have worked as the Director of Sports in Punjab. So, was I director from the beginning? These are the things which you learn (after assuming charge) - not to worry at all. If Sachin becomes Sports Minister, he will learn all about it (administration)," he said after reporters asked if a sportsman could make a good administrator.
