EOW roped in to probe Odisha Olympic Association's 'irregularities'

A 20-member team of Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the crime branch of Odisha police vetted various documents of Odisha Olympic Association (OOA) in the association office here on Saturday.

Cuttack: A 20-member team of Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the crime branch of Odisha police vetted various documents of Odisha Olympic Association (OOA) in the association office here on Saturday.

The team led by an SP-level officer also questioned the OOA Secretary Asirbad Behera on the day. Behera, incidentally, is also the secretary of the Odisha Cricket Association.

Police sources said the sleuths also vetted various documents of Football Association of Odisha (FAO), which is now being headed by Behera's son Sanjay.

The ongoing raids and searches on the apex sporting body of the state is part of the crime branch investigations into the alleged irregularities of OOA following High Court orders.
