Govt jobs for three Maharashtrian kabaddi players

Mumbai: Three Maharashtra-based players of the world cup-winning Indian kabaddi team will be given class-I jobs in the state government, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced.

The three players -- Abhilasha Mhatre, Surekha Bartakke and vice captain Deepika Joseph -- had brought laurels to the state, Pawar said.

The team coach Ramesh Bendgiri will be given Rs 25 lakh cash prize, Pawar said, speaking to reporters after a function where the players and the coach were feted.
