Indian Greco-Roman grapplers failed to impress at the World Junior Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria as all the four competitors in fray crashed out in the opening round on Wednesday.

Nitin (55kg), Yogesh (66kg), Harpreet Singh (84kg) and Sonu (120kg) were all knocked out in their opening bouts at Arena Armeetz. Indian women wrestlers will be in action tomorrow followed by the men`s freestyle competition. Nitin was matted by Japan`s Shinobu Ota in little over a minute through a fall. Yogesh lost to Hungary`s Michel Daher. Daher took a substantial 5-0 lead in the first period. However, Yogesh fought hard in the second period but lost the bout with a cumulative score of 3-8. While Harpreet lost to Anton Dzmitrychenka of Belarus, Sonu was floored by Tiberiu Alexandru Barbazan of Romania in the 120-kg division. On the opening day, Santosh Kumar Yadav (50kg) lost in the repecharge round of the championships on Tuesday. In another encounter on Tuesday, Pritam Shamarao (60kg) Khot lost to Latvia`s Nikita Masjuks in the second round after registering a comfortable win over Lishuai Cheng of China his opening bout. Gupreet Singh (74kg) too exited in the second round while Praveen Dagar made an early exit after going down tamely to Romas Fridrikas of Lithuania in the 96kg category. PTI
