Indian basketball teams get ready for Youth World Championship

New Delhi: The Indian boys` basketball team will kick off its campaign with a match against South Korea in the FIBA 3x3 Youth World Championship, scheduled to be held in Rimini, Italy from Friday.

The team has been placed in Group A alongside Tunisia, Greece, Estonia, Ukraine, Puerto Rico, Sri Lanka, Slovenia and South Korea.

The girls` team, placed in Group C, will start its campaign with a match against USA on Friday.

The other teams in Group C are Sri Lanka, Sweden, Italy, and Guam.

Each game will be 10-minute long, with two halves of five minutes each. A one-minute overtime is held if the score is tied at the end of regulation.

The shot-clock is 12 seconds, and the scoring limit is 21 points (that is, the first team to 21 wins). No time-outs are allowed and substitutions are to be made in dead-ball situations.

A total of 60 teams will be taking part in the tournament.
