Indian-origin girl Romina Gupta who resides in USA's Silicon Valley, California has made it to the US national team of acrobatics gymnastics.
New Delhi: Indian-origin girl Romina Gupta who resides in USA's Silicon Valley, California has made it to the US national team of acrobatics gymnastics.
The 17-year-old, whose parents hail from Kolkata, is now eyeing medals at the 2016 World Championships in China.
According to a report in the DNA, Romina is part of a three women group who perform acrobatic gymnastics. This includes flips, balancing acts, and dancing.
Romina has been a gymnast since last 14 years. Along with her teammates, she has won gold and silver medals at the 2013, 2014, and 2015 US national championships.
She started with artistic gymnastic after which she tried her hand at diving and tracks before getting drawn to acrobatic gymnastics.
If she wins a medal at the World Championships, Romina will join the likes of other Indian-Americans Mohini Bharadwaj (Silver for US in the 2004 Olympics), and Stephen Raj Bhavsar (bronze for US in the 2008 Olympics).
