New Delhi: The state Olympic associations of Jharkhand and Tripura on Monday raised the issue of a no-confidence motion against Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president N. Ramachandran.
Shivendra Dubey, general secretary of Jharkhand Olympic Association (JOA), wrote a letter to IOA informing that his association wants a no-confidence motion. “In view of present working style of Mr N Ramachandran, the Jharkhand Olympic Association demands no-confidence motion,” Dubey stated in the letter.
According to a reputed English daily, Tripura State Olympic Association secretary general Rupak Debroy has also demanded an IOA general meeting to address the issue.
In fact, Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) and Nagaland have also asked for a Special General Body Meeting (SGBM) to be called "to set things right" within the IOA.
A few days back Hockey India (HI) and Bowling Federation of India (BFI) had shot off letters to the IOA with similar demands.
HI president Narinder Batra on Thursday initiated a move for a special general body meeting to discuss Ramachandran's future.
Batra said he didn't endorse Ramachandran's style of functioning, which he said has weakened the IOA.
