New Delhi: Ace Indian shuttler P Kashyap and promising youngster PC Thulsali will lead Indian challenge in the Austrian International challenge badminton tournament, which starts with the qualifying round at Vienna on Tuesday.
World number 27 Kashyap will open his campaign against Jan Frohlich of Czech Republic in the men`s singles, while PC Thulasi will face off with third seed Elizabeth Cann and Aditi Mutatkar will face Iris Wang of US in the women`s in the main draw on Thursday.
In the men`s qualifiers, Sameer Verma, brother of national champion Sourabh Verma, will take on Murat Sen of Turkey, K Srikanth will be up against Jamie Bonsels of England, K Nandagopal will play against Italy`s Manuel Batista, Rohit Yadav will meet Ivan Rusev of Bulgaria and HS Prannoy will take on Rhys Walker on Wednesday.
In the women`s singles qualifier, Neha pandit will be up against Alexandra Mathis of Austria.
In the men`s doubles, top seeds Rupesh Kumar and sanave Thomas will be up against Birger Abts and Jesus Lorenzo of Belgium and Spain, while Tarun Kona and Arun Vishnu will take on Luka Petric and Alen Roj of Slovakia.
Manu Attri and Hemanagendra Babu will meet Hungarian pair of Gergely Krausz and Marton Szatzker in another men`s doubles match.
In the women`s doubles, Jyotshna P and PC Thulasi will meet Katrin Neudolt and Bianca Schiester of Austria.
Hemanagendra will again pair up with Jyotshna to take on German-Belgium duo of Maurice Niesner and Severine Corvilain in the mixed doubles competition.
