Kolkata teams dominate in All India and South Asia Rugby

Kolkata: Teams from Kolkata dominated the show outplaying their rivals from Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore in the first round of the All India and South Asia Rugby Championship at Calcutta Cricket and Football Club ground.

In the first match of the day, local Jungle Crows drubbed Delhi Lions by 40-12.

For the Jungle Crows, Milind Aya Singhe made 2 tries and five conversions, Atom Regan made 2 tries and Sarfaraz Ahmed and Sanjay Das both made a try each.

For Delhi team, Rakesh and Gavinder both made a try each and B Lal made a conversion.

Maintaining the same trend, Kolkata Police also displayed their might and defeated their rivals from Bangalore 25-8.

While for the policemen, Dorjee Tamang made two conversions, one penalty conversion and a try, Md Mahidul and Masudur Huq both made a try each.

For Bangalore outfit, Tarun made a penalty conversion while Ben made a try.

The other match of the day between Calcutta Cricket and Football Club and Bombay Gymkhana was comparatively better contested though CCFC maintained their convincing lead all through to beat their opponents from Mumbai 20-5.
