Korean, Indian women`s teams arrive for world championship

Indian and Korean teams arrive in Bihar for the first World Cup Women Kabaddi Championship.

Patna: Indian and Korean teams have arrived for the first World Cup Women Kabaddi Championship, scheduled to be held here between March 1 and 4.
The rest of the 14 teams participating in the event will reach here on February 29, Championship patron, Bihar HRD Minister P K Sahi and prinicpal secretary to the department Anjani Kumar said. Other countries who are participating include the USA, Canada, Mexico, Itali, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Taipei, China and Turkmenistan, Sahi said. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would inaugurate the championship on March 1. Shahi said the First Asian Women Championship was held at Hyderabad in 2005 and women kabaddi was included for the first time in the Asian Games held in China in 2010. This is the first time that Women World Cup Kabaddi is being organised here by the state HRD in order to promote sports in Bihar. PTI
