Landis 4th in New Zealand`s Tour of Southland

American cyclist Floyd Landis remained fourth in the Tour of Southland after finishing sixth Thursday in the sixth of nine stages.

Invercargill: American cyclist Floyd Landis remained fourth in the Tour of Southland after finishing sixth Thursday in the sixth of nine stages. Landis finished the 133.85-kilometer (83 mile) stage from Lumsden to the Crown Range, 27 seconds behind stage winner and tour leader Jeremy Yates of New Zealand.
Yates completed the stage in 3 hours, 43 minutes, 15 seconds, extending his overall tour lead to 24 seconds from Jack Bauer. Another New Zealander is third, with Olympian Hayden Roulston 31 seconds behind. Landis started the day 1 minute, 2 seconds behind Yates but slipped back to 1 minute, 39 seconds behind while retaining fourth place. The tour concludes Saturday at Invercargill, New Zealand`s southernmost city.Bureau Report
