Marcel Hirscher wins third World Cup title in four days

Adelboden: Marcel Hirscher won his third World Cup title in four days on Sunday, by taking the men`s slalom event in Adelboden, Switzerland.

The 22-year-old Austrian mastered the rapidly worsening conditions on the Kuonisbaergli slope to clock a two-run combined time of 1 minute 58.66 seconds, 0.27 seconds quicker than defending overall champion Ivica Kostelic of Croatia and almost a second faster than Italy`s Stefano Gross, who was third.

Hirscher increases his lead in the Overall World Cup standings to 230 pooints over Kostelic as a result, but still trils the Croatian by 25 points in the event standings.
