Mariamma Koshy appointed interim president of Hockey India

New Delhi : Mariamma Koshy, the head of Hockey Kerala has been appointed the interim president of the Hockey India in place of octagenarian Vidya Stokes, who resigned from the post a few days back.The executive body of Hockey India (HI), on Wednesday accepted the resignation tendered by Stokes. However, it has been decided that Stokes will be made the Lifetime Patron of the HI. She will also remain a permanent invitee to the executive and general body meetings of the association.Meanwhile, the Senior National Championship for men will be held in Pune from January 10-20 while the women`s championship will be held from January 18-27 in Rohtak.

The Junior National Championship for women will be held from January 4-14 in Hyderabad while the venue of the Junior National for men to be held from January 24 to February 2 is yet to be decided. PTI
