Million dollar deal for Indian boxers

Monnet Steel group came ahead to sign a new deal with Indian boxers worth one million dollars.

New Delhi: A day after Indian boxers’ unprecedented haul of six gold medals in the Commonwealth Boxing Championship, Monnet Steel group came ahead to sign a new deal worth one million dollars. Monnet signed the deal with boxers as `team and kit` sponsors. Earlier, Percept Sports Management firm, which till yesterday had a deal with world number one Vijender, also signed five more boxers in Suranjoy, Jai, Dinesh and Balwinder for a brand endorsement deal that will last three-years. While Indian boxers managed to win 6 golds, young Balwinder had lost in the opening round of the tournament. An elated coach Gurbax Singh said, "I hope the support keeps pouring in and the boxers continue to do well.” Percept also awarded the gold medal winning boxers with Rs 25,000 each.
