National `A` Chess Championship of CAI from March 23rd

New Delhi: Chess Promotion and welfare society will be conducting Grand National `A` Chess

Championship of CAI from March 23rd to 30th at Ludlow Castle Sports Complex here. The Rs 10 lakh prize money event will have see a total of 84 participants competiting in the event. 64 players were selected from CAI National `B` Chess Championship held at Saharanpur in August 2010 for the event, while 20 players from 10 CAI National chess championships, are also eligible to participate in this event. The winner will pocket Rs two lakhs, runner up will get a prize of Rs 1.25 lakhs, and 2nd runner up will be awarded 75 thousand rupees. In this unique event every participant will get prize, even 84th player will be getting 4000/- cash prize. The Tournament will be played on Swiss league basis. PTI
