Washington: NBA`s Philadelphia 76ers announced that their guard Jason Richardson has undergone a successful knee surgery.
The 12-year NBA veteran, who has not played for a month and will be sidelined for the rest of the season, had an articular cartilage lesion on the medial condyle of his left femur bone repaired Tuesday at New York`s Mt. Sinai Medical Center, reports Xinhua.
Richardson is expected to be away from the court for six to nine months, meaning his 2012-2013 season is over. The 32-year-old joined the 76ers from Orlando Magic as part of a four-team trade last August and averaged 10.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in 33 games this season.
