Denver: Denver Broncos receiver Wes Welker has recovered from a concussion and cleared to play by doctors in the upcoming NFL playoffs, Broncos coach John Fox said Monday.
Welker missed Denver`s final three regular-season games after suffering his second concussion of the season on December 8 in a victory over Tennessee.
The Broncos matched Seattle for the NFL`s best regular-season record at 13-3 to claim the top seed position in the American Conference playoffs.
Denver will open the playoffs with a second-round matchup at home on January 12, giving Welker even more time to recover.
Welker, 32, caught 73 passes for 778 yards and a career-high 10 touchdowns over 13 games for an offensive unit that produced an NFL-record 606 points this season, his first with Denver after spending the prior six years with the New England Patriots.
Welker signed a two-year deal worth $12 million with the Broncos last March.
I was down 2-1 in the third it was really tight and it was really tough.
