Los Angeles: Los Angeles Dodgers minor league player Miguel Olivo has been slapped with a suspension after getting into a dugout scrap in which he allegedly bit off part of a teammate`s ear.
The Dominican catcher was suspended Wednesday by the Dodger`s affiliate, the Albuquerque Isotopes. The team did provide details or say how long the suspension would last. Scott Boras, the agent for Cuban rookie Alex Guerrero, said his client was bitten by Olivo during a scuffle that began on the field and carried over into the dugout. The 27-year-old Guerrero, who signed a four-year, $28 million contract with the Dodgers in the off season, underwent surgery to try and re-attach his ear. Olivo has 145 home runs in 13 Major League Baseball seasons.
