London: British Olympics chiefs have got more than a million requests for tickets to watch world record-holder Usain Bolt in 100-metre final.
The August 5, 2012, race with champion and world record-holder Bolt hoping to defend his title at the giant Olympic Stadium is one of the most sought-after events of the 2012 Games.Only 40,000 seats are available for each session at the brand new venue - due partly to provisions for sponsors and VIPs. Demand for the 100m final in the recent ballot for tickets was so high that the East London arena could have been sold out 25 times over, a newspaper reported. Those who applied for the 6.6million Games tickets will come to know by June 24 whether they have been allocated any. About 1.8million applied, with a total of 20 million ticket applications. The price of London 2012 tickets ranges from 20 to 725 pounds for the showpiece 100 metres final and reaches 2,012 pounds for the glittering opening ceremony. Bureau Report
