Pak team to take part in South Asian Karate C`ship in India
Islamabad: A 17-member Pakistani karate squad, including six women, will leave for India on November 19 to participate in the South Asian Karate Championship.
National karate coach Khalid Noor said the team, comprising 11 men and six women players, is expected to perform well at the Championship to be held in New Delhi from November 21-24.
The players had completed a month-long coaching camp in Lahore and training sessions in Islamabad and Peshawar, Noor said.
Team members Sadi Abbas, Baz Muhammad, Muhammad Kashif and Imtiaz Ali were among the 11-member Pakistani men squad that reached the semifinals of the Asian Games team event.
Noor said he was hopeful of a good performance by the women players as they had done well in recent tournaments.
