New Delhi: Ace Indian Dipika Pallikal and compatriot Siddarth Suchde have entered the main draw of the Malaysian Open staring tomorrow in Kuala Lumpur, after winning their respective final qualifying match here on Tuesday.
Chennai-girl Pallikal defeated Malaysia`s Siti Munirah
Jusoh 9-11, 11-6, 11-6, 11-6 in 39 minutes, while UK-based Suchde
humbled Gilly Lane of USA 11-7, 11-9, 6-11, 11-8 in 77 minutes.
Pallikal will be up against England`s Laura Massaro in
the first-round main draw clash tomorrow to be played at the
Curve Shopping Mall Squash Centre.
The four-day (July 21-24) USD 53,500 event is the fourth
Gold event of the year on the women`s WISPA World Tour which
has attracted a star-studded field featuring nine of the top
ten players in the world.
Meanwhile, Suchde will play top seed Egyptian Mohammed El
Shorbagy in the first round encounter tomorrow in the
five-star USD 52,500 PSA championship.
