New Delhi: A day after he was granted bail by magistrate Desmond Nair in a courtroom in Pretoria, South African star Oscar Pistorius tweeted thanks to all his fans across the world who offered prayers for him and his deceased girlfriend.
"Thank-you to every person that has prayed for both families, Osca" read a tweet posted by his brother Carl.
Pistorius who is nicknamed "Blade Runner" as he competes on special carbon fibre blades, has been accused of premeditated murder of his model girlfriend and law graduate Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine`s Day.
Pistorius said that it wasn’t premeditated as he mistook her for a burglar who was hiding in the bathroom.
Pistorius was granted bail on a record one million Rand ($112,770) after his bail plea hearing lasted for four days.
Meanwhile Reeva’s father said that the Paralympian superstar would suffer if he is lying in the case.
"He`ll have to live with his conscience. But if he`s telling the truth, I may forgive him one day," Steenkamp`s father said.
But "if it didn`t happen as he described it, he should suffer. And he will suffer ... only he knows."
Pistorius is due to appear in the court on June 4 to face a charge of pre-meditated murder in the shooting death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
