Prem Singh gets four gold medals

Prem Singh of Punjab grabbed all four gold medals in men`s 69 kg category in the National Weightlifting Championship.

Berhampur (Odisha): Prem Singh of Punjab grabbed all four gold medals in men`s 69 kg category in the National Weightlifting Championship.
Singh lifted 127 kg in Snatch, 156 kg in clean jerk for a total of 283 kg. Jaswant Singh of UP bagged three gold metals in men`s 85 kg category lifting 140 kg in snatch, 162 kg in clean and jerk for a total of 302 kg. However, he had to settle with bronze in clean and jerk with the gold going in favour of K Hargopal of Andhra Pradesh who lifted 167 kg. G Satish Kumar of Railway won the overall gold in the men`s 77 kg weight class lifting 135 kg in snatch, 163 kg in clean and jerk for a total of 298 kg. N Sunil Kumar of Railway lifted 126 kg to win the silver medal in 69 kg category and the bronze medal went to P Ram Babu of Andhra Pradesh who lifted 123 kg. Similarly, in 69 kg men`s category N Sunil Kumar of Railways bagged two silvers and one bronze, P Ram Babu of Andhra Pradesh got one silver and one bronze and K L Meitei of SSBC got one silver and one bronze. In 77 kg men`s category G Satish Kumar of Railways got one gold and two silvers, Tej Singh of Delhi bagged one gold and one silver, Ajaydeep Sharma of Chandigargh got one gold and one silver and Neeraj Sharma received one gold. In 85 kg men`s category N Sen Singh of Manipur got two silver medals, Paritosh Upadhaya of Karnataka and Nagendra Singh SSBC got one silver each while Premjeet Singh of Chandigarh bagged two bronze medals and V Darwin of Railways got one bronze medal.
