Prosecutor accuses `self-obsessed` Pistorius of being `selfish, egoistical liar`

Wellington: The chief prosecutor in the murder trial of Oscar Pistorius has reportedly accused the Paralympian of being an `selfish, egoistical liar` and `self-obsessed`.
Pistorius was challenged relentlessly about his account of the moments just before he killed Reeva Steenkamp, as well as circumstances related to several firearms charges against him, including the firing of a gun in a crowded restaurant. According to Stuff.co.nz, prosecutor Gerrie Nel accused the Blade Runner him of being self-obsessed and hiding the truth about the death of his model girlfriend, whom he shot through a closed toilet door in his home, and asserted that the athlete will not `accept responsibility for anything`. Seizing on every opportunity to challenge the star athlete`s credibility, Nel also accused Pistorius of overbearing egotistical behaviour in his relationship with Steenkamp, and described Pistorius` courtroom apology to her family on Monday as an `insincere spectacle`. The prosecutor also insisted that Pistorius had a string of unlikely excuses for why he was not to blame in the gun charges for two incidents which he faces on top of murder, adding that Pistorius was not `humble enough` to apologise in private to the family and away from the media glare.
