Rajasthan CM proposes better rewards for sportspersons

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday proposed to hike ten times the amount of rewards for players of the state who secure I, II and III positions in international, national and state level sports competitions.

As per the revised amount, Rs 5 lakh, 3 lakh and 2 lakh will be awarded to players from the state who secure first, second and third positions respectively in international sports competitions.

Rs 2.5 lakh, 1 lakh and 50,000 will be given to the players who secure the three positions in national-level competitions. Similarly, Rs 1 lakh, 50,000 and 20,000 will be awarded in state-level competitions. Besides, the chief minister proposed several measures for improvement of sports facilities in the state.

`Chief Minister`s Urban BPL Rojgar Yojna`, unemployment allowance of Rs 500 per month to those graduate unemployed youths whose family income is up to Rs 1 lakh annually and Rs 600 per month for differently abled youths, `Young Intern Programme` are among other youth-centric measures Gehlot annonced in the budget speech.

Apart from these, the chief minister made several announcements for energy, water, good governance, minerals, local bodies, industrial development, tourism sector, urban development, police department, public relations and journalists, soldier welfare and freedom fighters among others.
