Robles opts out of Paris meet to rest tired legs

Paris: World record holder and Olympic 110 metres hurdles champion Dayron Robles has pulled out of Friday`s Diamond League meet in Paris due to tired legs, his trainer said.

Santiago Antunez said the Cuban needed to rest after participating in meets throughout Europe.

"He doesn`t have any type of injury. He still hasn`t recovered from the race in Lausanne (last week) and his legs are a little tired," he told Reuters by telephone from their training base in Guadalajara, Spain.

The 23-year-old had a light workout on Wednesday that included relaxation exercises and stretching, Antunez said.

Robles has yet to decide if he will run in a July 22 meet in Monaco.

"It will depend on how Dayron feels," Antunez said.

Robles will return to Cuba at the end of July to spend a week with his family, then return to Europe to compete in the Aug. 13-14 Diamond League meet in London.
