Poor run continued for ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal as she was knocked out of the Malaysian Open by World No. 30 Xue Yao. In her second round match, Saina began the proceedings in style as she won the first set, but the Chinese bounced back and won the next two sets to register a 16-21, 21-10, 21-19 victory. Saina had won her first round match where she defeated Hera Desi 21-10, 21-16. These are testing times for Saina who is struggling to find her momentum. Saina didn't win a single title in 2013, and the new season hasn't been impressive for her either. Meanwhile, P.V. Sindhu too lost her second round match where she was defeated 16-21 19-21 to 6th seed Yeaon Ju Bae of South Korea. Sindhu couldn't capitalise on a lead of 19-15 in the second game, as her opponent won the next six points to seal the match. Sindhu had to sweat out even in her first round match, where she defeated Lindaweni Fanetri 21-17, 21-18.
