New Delhi: Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal waltzed into the second round of the Korea Open Super Series with a straight-game victory over Scotland`s Susan Egelstaff on Wednesday.
Saina made short work of her opponent as the world number four defeated 33rd-ranked Egelstaff 21-5, 21-6 in mere 24 minutes in the first round of the women`s singles in Seoul.
The Indian shuttler faces Chinese Taipei`s Shao Chieh Cheng in the next round on Thursday.
Jwala Gutta and V Diju also made it to the second round of the mixed doubles event with a 21-18, 21-18 victory over the Malaysian combine of Peng Soon Chan and Liu Ying Goh.
Jwala then teamed up with Ashwini Ponnappa in the doubles to beat another Malaysian pair of Vivian Kah Mun Hoo and Khe Wei Woon 21-19, 21-18 in the opening round.
Ajay Jayaram conceded his men`s singles match against local challenger Wan Ho Shon when he was trailing 0-1 in the first game.
