Saina Nehwal storms into Hong Kong quarters

Hong Kong: India’s badminton ace Saina Nehwal stormed into quarterfinals of the Hong Kong Super Series 2010 with a straight set victory over Thailand’s Salakjit Ponsana.

Nehwal cruised to the quarters with 21-10, 21-12 drubbing of her Thai counterpart and ensured India’s good run in the tourney after CWG bronze medallist P Kashyap had got a gruelling three-game win over Chinese Taipei`s Yu Hsing Hsieh in the singles yesterday.

The Indian fought past Hsieh 21-14, 19-21, 21-18 in an hour and four minute encounter. He now faces fifth seed Jin Chen of China.
