New Delhi: National boxing coach GS Sandhu has been chosen as a member of the International Boxing Association`s Coaches Commission while four other Indians have also found a place in various AIBA panels.
"Indian Boxing Federation is pleased to announce that the International Boxing Association (AIBA) has selected five Indians to be in various AIBA Commissions for the term 2010-2014," the IBF said in a statement.
For the first time, an Indian has been chosen to be the Chairperson of an AIBA Commission with former tennis player Manisha Malhotra getting nominated as Chairperson of AIBA Women Commission.
She has represented India at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and won a mixed doubles silver in the 2002 Asian Games.
The Indians elected in various AIBA Commissions:
Manisha Malhotra: Chairperson, AIBA Women Commision
Kishen Narsi: Member, AIBA WSB Commission
Jay Kowli: Member, AIBA Youth & Athletes Commn
GS Sandhu: Member, AIBA Coaches Commission
Tarun Kumar Tamta: Member, AIBA Medical Commission. PTI
