SCR thrashes ER 5-0 to claim bronze

Chennai: South Central Railway thrashed Eastern Railway 5-0 to claim the bronze medal in the All India Inter Railway Hockey championship.

Individual abilities of the South Central Railway players, particularly in better conversion of penalty corners, helped them win the match. The winners managed to convert two of their five corners, while Eastern Railway muffed with two penalty corners that came their way.Mayak James put the winners in the lead in the 15th minute and Innocent Kullu made it 2-0 in the very next minute. Crossing over, Manujeet Kullu drag flicked for the third goal following a penalty corner and then Captain Amit Shrivas capped with a brace of goals in the 55th and 57th minutes.The final between South East-Central Railway and Western Railway will be held tomorrow afternoon.
