Sinimoe chosen for the Jimmy George Foundation award 2010

Kannur: Arjuna Awardee Sinimole Paulose, has been chosen as the ‘best state sportsperson’ for the prestigious Jimmy George Foundation award, 2010.

Announcing this here on Wednesday, Jose George, Chairman, Jimmy George Foundation, said that the award carrying a cash prize of Rs 25000 and a statuette, will be bestowed on the athlete during the first week of December at nearby Theravoor in Kannur district.

The five-member judging panel consisted of Jose George, olympian Suresh Babu, Robert Bobby George, D Deva Prasad and Sebastian George.

A Senior Accounts Officer in Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Sinimole was the national champion consecutively for three years in 2006, 07 and 08 in the 800 m and 1500 m.

Hailing from Pambakuda in Ernakulam District, Sinimole had won the Asian All Star meet 1500 gold medal in 2008 and 2010.

During 2000, 01 and 02 Simimole was National Junior champion in 800 m and 1500 m.

In 2008 Sinimole was bestowed with the Arjuna Award.
