San Antonio: The San Antonio Spurs stretched their NBA winning streak to 16 on Friday with an emphatic 133-102 triumph over the Denver Nuggets.
Marco Belinelli scored 27 points for the Spurs, whose winning run is the longest in the NBA this year and is now just one shy of matching the club record. San Antonio won 17 on the trot from February 29 through March 31 of 1996. The Spurs can tie the mark on Saturday at home against New Orleans and possibly break it Monday at Eastern Conference leaders Indiana. Tim Duncan scored 20 points and pulled down eight rebounds for San Antonio, who ended the Nuggets` five-game home winning streak. Tony Parker was limited to four points on 2-of-9 shooting, but Tiago Splitter helped make up for Parker`s quiet night with eight points, 12 rebounds and seven assists for the Spurs.
