Panaji: Sri Lanka continued their winning streak in men`s beach volleyball at the Lusofonia Games as they defeated Angola in straight sets here Friday, while Indian team too emerged victorious.
Packed with star players Wasantha Rathnapala and Mahesh Perera, Sri Lankans routed Angola 21-16, 21-14 in the first match of the day on Court 1.
On Court 2, men from East Timor faced the highly skilled Portuguese. Portugal defeated East Timor 21-15, 21-19.
The match between Macau (China) and Sao Tome & Principe saw tough fight.
Sao Tome & Principe started on an aggressive note winning the first set 21-7. Team Macau (China) bounced back with vengeance and crushed their opponents by 21-12?to in the second set.
In the third and final set, Sao Tome & Principe kept their nerves and overcame the Macau challenge 15-13.
Goa (India) easily tamed Guinea Bissau 21-5, 21-6.
However, the hosts lost to Portugal in the women`s section. Portugal scored a facile victory, beating Goa (India) 21-9, 21-12.
