TN Junior carrom championship to begin from tomorrow

Around 300 players from various parts of Tamil Nadu will take part in the 55th Tamil Nadu Junior Carrom State Championship, beginning here on Friday.

Coimbatore: Around 300 players from various parts of Tamil Nadu will take part in the 55th Tamil Nadu Junior Carrom State Championship, beginning here on Friday.
The tournament will act as a selection trial as the top six scorers in both boys and girls categories will get a chance to play at National Level Junior Carrom Championship. The players are expected to attend the three-day carrom carnival, a press release from the organisers Rathinam College of Arts and Science, the Tamil Nadu state Chess Association said. The tournament is being held for two categories--boys and girls singles. The winners, first and second runners up will be awarded trophies, cash prizes and certificates. The championship is being held under the aegies of Tamil Nadu Carrom Association and Coimbatore District Carrom Association. PTI
