Touching Souls, an NGO engaged in safeguarding the rights of minorities planned and presented the first-ever 'International Tribal Games 2015', which was held at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore.

New Delhi: Touching Souls, an NGO engaged in safeguarding the rights of minorities planned and presented the first-ever 'International Tribal Games 2015', which was held at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore.

International Tribal Games 2015 is a unique and one of its kind sports event to be ever organised in India. The event will help promote, educate and connect various tribal groups of country, who have never been a part of main stream, progressive India.

It will be a mix of both individual and team track and field games.

Since winning is not only the sole objective, the event will act as a platform to discover potential athletes, award champions and further train them for various international meets.

Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo said that the Karnataka state government is supporting this sports event.

Sabina Samad has pioneered to organise the first version of tribal sports meet. She conceptualised the idea of the ITG and believes that it will serve as a means to strengthen the internal bonding among tribals across the world and their recognition in the society as a whole.

The participants will be mentored by some of the leading names in the sports fraternity.
