The USA women's basketball team earned a berth at the Rio 2016 Olympics by defeating Spain 77-64 in the final of the FIBA World Championships.

Rio de Janeiro: The USA women's basketball team earned a berth at the Rio 2016 Olympics by defeating Spain 77-64 in the final of the FIBA World Championships.
"It's very difficult to win these championships," Auriemma was quoted as saying on the official Rio 2016 website.
"I' m really proud of our team. These guys make a great sacrifice, because they just finished playing in their own league. It's a tremendous sacrifice that they made for their country, and I can't be more proud of them," said Auriemma.
The USA's men and women are so far the only teams to qualify for the Rio 2016 basketball tournaments.
