New Delhi: Undefeated Indian boxer Vijender Singh is coming back to defend his WBO Asia Pacific super middleweight title on December 17. And the opponent is Francis Cheka, a former WBF world champion from Tanzania.

Here's everything you need to know about the much anticipated 31-year-old's title defence bout.

Date: December 17, 2016

Venue: Thyagaraj Stadium, New Delhi

Title: WBO Super Middleweight Asia Pacific

Weight class: super-middleweight (76 kg)

Challenger: Francis Cheka of Tanzania

The fight night will also feature top Indian boxers, including Akhil Kumar and Jitender Kumar, make their pro-boxing debut.

But, who is this Cheka?

- The 34-year-old is a former world and current intercontinental Champion.

- He has fought WBA world champion Fedor Chudinov from Russia and WBC international Champion Matthew Mecklin from UK.

- Already racked up 300 gruelling rounds under his belt in 16 year career, as against Indian's 27.

- And this is what he said:

"I am ready to give this kid a lesson of boxing…I will come to India. I have heard a lot about this Indian boxer and there's a lot of hype around him, I just can't wait to be the one to put him in his place.

Vijender has been training in Manchester for his title defense fight next month. Till date, he has a record of 7 out of 7 wins with 6 knockouts. The Haryana-dasher had won the title in front of delirious home fans in the capital.
