India-England World Cup match, a day after ICC shifted the venue`s prime match, citing unpreparedness.

In a desperate bid to host the match, the Cricket Association of Bengal, led by president Jagmohan Dalmiya today had a series of meetings, including with builders, to expedite the renovation work at the historic venue.

CAB joint-secretary Biswarup Dey told reporters that the bucket seats would be fixed in the upper tiers of B and C blocks by February 3, while the garbage would be cleared by January 31."We are still hopeful of conducting the match. The Indian cricket board is doing their best and taking up the matter with the ICC. We have not lost our hope," he said.A clearer picture, however, will be known tomorrow.
