Agent Mazhar Majeed and former Essex player Mervyn Westfield lost Court of Appeal challenges against match-fixing convictions as Lord Chief Justice Lord Judge and two other judges in London rejected their appeals on Thursday.

Majeed, 36, from Croydon, south London, was sentenced to two years and eight months for his role in the spot-fixing scandal involving three Pakistani cricketers in 2010 Lord`s Test against England.

The 24-year-old Westfield was jailed for four months in February for accepting a £6,000 bribe to concede 12 runs in a one-day game in 2009.
